Touchstone Resort

Stayed two nights as the nearest accommodation for a family wedding nearby. Comfortable rooms with well equipped kitchen area. Great view over the water with jetties for boats and float planes. Unable to comment on the resort's overall facilities as we were involved with our family wedding. Highly recommended though.

We are frequent visitors to touchstone. To my great surprise - yoga was introduced at the resort this year. I don’t believe it’s advertised on the website. Classes were held most mornings and some evenings in what’s called the boathouse. An amazing space right on the water. The last class of the season is tonite (23-Sept-2024). I’d call the yoga style gentle / medium flow, but the teacher always asked for class input on preferences

We made our annual pilgrimage to Muskoka and the Touchstone Resort. Simply put - we had an amazing holiday. When we arrived the front desk clerk “welcomed us back” and we had been upgraded to a two bedroom suite on the water. Wow. It had everything you can imagine. The room was spotless - the beds seemed brand new and SO comfortable. We had one of the new suites overlooking the water. There is so much to do on the lake and at the beach. The kids loved pickleball! They had a fire going at night and the stars were amazing!! Absolutely recommend this resort for friendly service and clean rooms and a fantastic family holiday. Thank you Touchstone…until next year!

Very disappointed! Paid over $300 a night for a dirty room that viewed a cement wall. Coffee maker wouldn’t work bed was uncomfortable and sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed! I will never stay here again! Don’t waste your money. The only positive thing was the reception girl was nice but not helpful.

My friends and I have been staying at Touchstone resort for over 5 years! This is our go to stay during our summers and we always have an incredible stay and make wonderful memories :) the staff are some of the most amazing people who are super accommodating! I am shocked to read a negative comment about the staff especially Barry. He is the kindest man I have ever met! Anytime I have an issue he resolves it immediately and with a smile on his face. He is very proud of his job and takes it seriously and I have never in 5 years came remotely close to a negative interaction with Barry or his staff. I am very excited to be at the resort ! Can’t wait to play pickleball on the property :)

Just spent three days at this beautiful resort. Stayed in a one bedroom suite that was very clean and very well equipped. Beautiful property, beautiful beach area with lots of lounge chairs and pergolas for shade. Pool is a little small but we had it completely to ourselves in the evening so no complaints. Fantastic for young children. As an aside…I was surprised at the previous negative comment about the lack of a lake view. Not sure if we were in the same room, we were in Beachhouse C suite 102. Although the booking site clearly states views may be blocked by trees, I thought our view from our deck was lovely. See attached photo.

Pros are the property! It is amazing! Spectacular views for sunrises and sunsets, the pool areas were small but enjoyable, our unit was nice and comfortable, the people at the desk were great. Also there is a beautiful golf course right across the street! We had daily concierge texts to check in to see if we needed anything and to provide info about amenities. Not Cons’s but not to our expectation would include the beach area. It could be maintained better as the water was quite weedy and not nice to go in. We opted to use the pools instead. Our unit was pretty clean but had some issues: hair left on shower walls from previous guest, mattress was old and could use replacement, wire BBQ brush not suitable to use anymore, the unit could have been better stocked with necessities (bathroom products) and cooking utensils (ie no spatula to fry eggs). Nothing serious that would prevent us from returning for sure as the pros out way the not-so-great things. To keep in mind, this resort has lots of stairs. We were in an upper unit so a steep set of stairs in/out. Lots of walking/stairs to get to the swim dock, boat dock, etc. which could pose accessibility challenges for some. Overall we’re already thinking of when we can go back!

The resort is truly special and all focused on beautiful Lake Muskoka. Our welcome was 10/10 with a terrific overview of amenities which are many. Pools, docks, beach, pickleball , fire pits and a great Spa/fitness centre. The grill was terrific sitting on the patio over looking the lake! Our room had an amazing view and was clean and comfortable. Already planning our return in August!

After a few years being unable to schedule a family Muskoka trip, we spent a half week at Touchstone. Rained 90% of the time, which ****** but resort was still great. Huge unit with waterfront views. I can never sleep well away from home but beds here were AMAZING! In the rain, the infinity pool looks like Costa Rica and sauna and steam were much appreciated. Beach and its water toys were great when sunny.
